What a business website should include
· Stephen O. Olawumi
A credible website is not a long one. It is a site that answers the questions a serious customer already has, on a phone, without hunting.
Who you are
The name of the business, where you work, and a plain description of the service. Olastep Networks publishes Lagos and Oyo because that is what the business has stated. You should be equally specific. “We are passionate about excellence” tells a visitor nothing.
What you offer
Name the services. Say who they are for. Say what is included when you can. Prices can live on the page or in a conversation, but the offer itself should not be a secret.
Proof that is real
A project, a photograph of the work, or a named client is useful. A row of invented percentages is not. If you do not have a case study yet, do not manufacture one. A clear explanation of the work is enough.
A way to respond
A form, a phone number, and — for many Nigerian customers — WhatsApp. Put them where they can be found without scrolling through a manifesto.
The unglamorous parts
A privacy note, working links, readable text, and pages that load. Search setup and analytics belong in the launch, not as an afterthought six months later.
